Our story
Star of Hope Nursery and Primary School was established on 27 March 2023 to improve access to quality education for children in Joppa, Gudele Area.
Existing schools were far from the community and became especially difficult to reach during the rainy season. Star of Hope began with 18 pupils and a clear conviction: distance should never stand between a child and the opportunity to learn.
Licensed by the State Ministry of Education, Central Equatoria State, the school now serves 652 learners—281 in nursery and 371 in primary—with a projected enrolment of 850 pupils in 2027.

To contribute to human capital development in South Sudan through accessible education.
Our identity
The Star of Hope flag proudly carries our official crest and school motto, “We are the Light.”
It represents the shared identity of our learners, teachers, families and wider school community.

What we stand for
Our school culture combines academic effort with character development. Learners are guided by five core values:

“We are the Light.”Our school motto
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14–16
Our commitment to excellence
Every lesson taught, challenge embraced and achievement celebrated brings our learners one step closer to excellence. Together with dedicated teachers, supportive parents and hardworking pupils, we nurture confident, responsible and academically capable young people.
